Part 1: Stop 2 (Homo Erectus)
The Homo Erectus was the second Hominid to live during the Paleolithic Era. Homo Erectus in English means Upright. They were named this because they were the first hominid to walk upright. This capability allowed them to travel much better then the Homo Habilis. They were also the first hominid to discover and use fire. They also had tools that were a little better then the ones that the Homo Habilis had.
The Homo Erectus lived from 1.9-.2 million years ago. They lived the longest out of all of the hominids. They lived for 1.7 million years. They lived for .6 million years after the end of the Paleolithic Era. They were also hunter-gatherers like the Homo Habilis. Although they were hunter-gatherers, they also were not hunter-gatherers for .6 million years.
